Ajith Kumar's Father P Subramaniam Passes Away Due To Health Issues

Kollywood's one of the top league actors, Thala Ajith, AKA Ajith Kumar woke up to a piece of sad news on March 24. The Thunivu actor, who recently returned from a foreign vacation with family lost his father, P Subramaniam (85).

P Subramaniam suffered a Paralysis stroke and was getting treated for the same for the last four years. Ajith's family, his brother Anup Kumar and Anil Kumar released an official statement announcing Subramaniam's demise. In it, the family thanked the doctors for taking good care of him.

The statement reads,"Our father, PS Mani, passed away in the early hours of this morning, in his sleep, after a long illness. He was 85. We are grateful for the care and support provided to him and our family by a number of medical professiona;s, especially following his debilitating stroke of four years ago. We are comforted, at this time of grief, that he lived a good life and knew the undying love of our mother, his partner of nearly six decades. We appreciate the kind, comforting messages and coloences that have been coming in and ask for your understanding if we may not be able to take calls or respond to messages in a timely manner(sic)."

After the news broke out, the entire Kollywood industry mourned the actor's loss and sent out condolences and prayers to Ajith's family. Superstars Kamal Haasan has put out a tweet and Thalapathy Vijay, who is often pitched against Ajith by his fans, came down to Ajith's house to pay his respects to P Subramaniam and offer support to Ajith. The video of Vijay going to Ajith's house went viral on the internet.

All the relatives and well-wishers, fans of the actor have sent condolence messages to the actor. R Sarath Kumar, GM Sundar, actor Prasanna, and Silambarasan were among some prominent personalities who took to their social media handles to express their condolences.

P Subramaniam was from Palakkad, Kerala. He got married to Mohini, a Sindhi woman born in Kolkata, West Bengal. About the funeral, the family members said, "His last rites will be a family affair. We trust that all who have known loss will respect out wish to grieve privately and deal with his passing with as much equanimity and dignity as possible."

Ajith's Upcoming Projects

Ajith was last seen in Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth. He has announced his next, referred to as AK 62 under the direction of Magizh Thirumeni. The movie will be produced by Lyca Productions. AK 62's official announcement is yet to be made.
