Anu Prabhakar Opens Up About Her Divorce With First Husband; Says 'Jayanthi Forced Me To Wear..'

Anu Prabhakar, who has emerged as a leading actress in the Kannada film industry, has revealed in an interview why she divorced her first husband.

Actress Anu Prabhakar made her debut as a child artist in the 1990 Kannada film Chapala Chennigaraya. She also acted as a child artist in the English film Mysteries of the Dark Jungle. After this, she made her heroine entry in 1999 with the film Hrudaya Hrudaya opposite Shiva Rajkumar.

After that, Anu rose to prominence as a leading actress in Kannada. In Tamil she acted in Lawrence and Kunal starrer "Arputham", Ramya Krishnan starrer "Annai Kaligampal" and Vikram starrer "Majaa". She did not act in Tamil films regularly but proved her talent in Kannada film industry both on small screen and silver screen.

She married Krishna Kumar, son of Kannada actress Jayanthi, in 2002 when she was at the height of her career. Anu Prabhakar divorced Krishna Kumar in 2014 after living with him for 12 years. Meanwhile, she married a Kannada actor named Raghu Mukherjee in 2016. She has a daughter named Nandana. Meanwhile, Anu has revealed in a recent interview to a media portal about the reason for divorcing her first husband.

She said, "I developed a good relationship with Jayanthi at their house. As a woman, as an actress, I learned a lot from her. Jayanthi told me not to stop acting after marriage. I acted in 9 films within one year of marriage. Jayanthi forced me to wear modern clothes but i liked to wear only decent clothes. I don't want a third person to enter into my marriage life. This is a very personal thing.

According to me, a human being has only one life. Live that life happily. Don't live in pain. Painful decisions must be made when your happiness seems impossible. That's why I took the decision of divorce."
