Bakasuran Day 2 Box Office: Sudden Drop For Mohan G's Controversial Film Due To Dhanush's Vaathi Vibe

Mohan G's Bakasuran opened well at box office on its first day. But due to Dhanush's Vaathi vibe, Bakasuran is getting a sudden drop in its Day 2 collection. The film is said to be made on a budget of 6 crores and it already collected one crore at box office. Though Vaathi looks like a Telugu film in many places, family audience prefers a Dhanush film rather than his brother Selvaraghavan's Bakasuran. Since Mohan G's earlier films were made in favour of a particular community in Tamilnadu, they extend their support for Bakasuran. As per the reports, today the film will collect 60 lakhs on its second day of release. This is nowhere near Vaathi's box office collection.

Director Mohan G, who made Tamil cinema fans look back with his films like 'Draupathi' and 'Rudra Thandavam', is currently producing and directing the film 'Bakasuran' under GM Film Corporation. Director Selvaraghavan is playing the lead role in this film and Natty is acting in another important role. Radharavi and K Rajan are playing the main characters who move the story forward. Natty plays the main character in this film after Mari Selvaraj's 'Karnan'. Starring Mansoor Ali Khan, Devadarsini, PL Thenappan, Gunanidhi, Sasi Laiya, Richa, Kooljayant, Jacob, Arunodayan, Kutty Gopi. Cinematography by Farooq J Badshah and music has been composed by Sam CS. S Devaraj is editing the film and SK is working as the art director. Selva has choreographed a realistic fight sequence.

Story, screenplay & dialogues were written and directed by Mohan G. Speaking about the film, director Mohan G said that just as Draupathi and Rudra Thandavam was based on real events in the society, Bakasuran is a story written based on real events in Salem, Arcot, Pondicherry. "This movie is a screenplay created for people and parents to create awareness about what is happening in society in the name of massage centers, online prostitution and virtual prostitution. Selvaraghavan has played the lead role in this film. Although he has already acted in the Vijay film Beast, this is the first film in which he will play the main character of the story. Natraj plays a role opposite Selvaraghavan as the supporting actor in this film.

"Like my previous films, this film also has a plot. The only thing I will repeat is for parents, young women and teenagers, what kind of apps are dangerously located on the modern day mobile. In this movie we have told in detail how to protect yourself from them." says Mohan G.

Sam CS recently said, "I believe in this famous saying by Narayana Guru, 'Whatever may be your religion, humanity should live.' I didn't watch Mohan G's previous films. When he called me to work with him in this film, I told my well wishers that someone in the name of Mohan G is calling me. They got shocked and said, 'He will do only caste based films. Stay away from him.' But have this habit of taking the final call only based on the scripts. Having their words in mind, I went and heard to story from Mohan G. He narrated the script for almost 2 hours. Frankly speaking I went there with a mindset to say No if it was a caste based film. But to my surprise the story was not based on caste. It had an important social message that needs to be told. It will be a big eye opener for many parents. As the dialogue from the film says, we don't know what our kids are doing inside their rooms with a mobile phone in hand. I believe this film will create the much needed awareness for school and college going girls especially. Musically there is enough scope for me to score. So i said yes and came into this project.

Mohan G told me that I will get trolled in social media for doing this. I didn't take that seriously as I don't believe in caste. But to my surprise, when I searched my name in Google after committing this film, most of the searches were about my caste."

Dhanush's Vaathi started to dominate Bakasuran on its second day of release. Film Critics are sharing their opinion that Bkasuran team did a mistake by releasing it as a clash with Vaathi. The craze for a Dhanush film on a weekend among family audience is the major reason for this sudden drop of Bakasuran collection.
