"Biggest Mistake Of My Life Was Getting Married," Veteran Actress Vadivukkarasi Gets Emotional

Veteran Tamil actress Vadivukkarasi needs no introduction in Tamil Nadu. She makes headlines from time to time for various reasons and this time, she has opened up about her personal life and how marriage ruined her life. In an interview she recalled her past and it has now it is creating a sensation.

She said, "The biggest mistake I made in my life was getting married. I was born in a very wealthy family. But as they say, everything was gone overnight, my family came to the street in one day. Everything has gotten out of hand and my family has come to the point where we have to work to get food to our table."

She further added, "This is why I came to act. It was supportive to my family and I had to work for the same. And I was so lucky for having found a life partner who cared for me like my own motger. He took good care of me and my daughter. But when he died I was broken. A girl's only support is her mother. I was left all by myself with my child when my husband died. I was devastated and I had no one with me."

The actress further added, "Then many people told me to get married for the second time at least for the child. So in my mind I wanted someone in my life who would also treat my child like his own. That was the biggest mistake of my life. I shouldn't have done that."

Vadyukkarasi made her debut in Tamil cinema with the film Sikappu Rojakkal released in 1978 directed by Bharathiraja. Vadukukarasi has been in the film industry for more than 40 years and 50 years, has acted in many films in languages including Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada.
