Actor Vijay's film Varisu was released on January 11 as a Pongal treat to his fans. The film was directed by Vamshi Paidipally who directed various hits in Telugu. Tollywood producer Dil Raju was producing the film at a huge cost. Actress Rashmika Mandhana acted opposite Vijay in the film for the first time.
