Kantara positioned actor-writer-director Rishab Shetty on the pedestal of global recognition. Back home, after the film won several laurels, Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the very few veterans to have congratulated the actor for his honest and brilliant attempt. Rajinikanth liked the movie so much that he tweeted about Kantara and called Rishab Shetty to his home to speak about the divine blockbuster, as it was dubbed to be.

Rishab Shetty was not only hosted by Rajinikanth, but the latter even presented him with a gold chain as a token of appreciation. Rishab Shetty felt privileged, and he shared his experience with Rajinikanth on his Twitter handle elaborately.

The Dadasaheb Phalke award-winning actor, who earlier announced with the film's producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films that there would be another part to Kantara, a prequel, has surprised and satisfied the fans with the announcement.

Contrary to what the people have expected- Kantara to have a sequel-Rishab Shetty made it clear that the movie will have a prequel and not a sequel. The decision was made public on the occasion of the film's 100th-day celebrations.

According to the latest buzz, reports on several entertainment websites mentioned that Superstar Rajinikanth will likely be part of the magnum opus film, Kantara 2. The actor-writer-director might have thought that the addition of a stalwart like Rajinikanth to the film would do much better and bigger. However, the official announcement of the same is awaited.
