In
a
recent
interview
to
a
media
portal,
director
AR
Murugadoss
has
revealed
the
reason
why
Superstar
Rajinikanth
starrer
Darbar
was
a
flop.
AR
Murugadoss
is
a
leading
director
in
the
Tamil
film
industry.
Films
directed
by
him
like
Ramana,
Ghajini,
Thuppakki,
Kaththi,
Sarkar
are
still
in
the
minds
of
fans.
But
the
last
two
AR
Murugadoss
films
Darbar
and
Spyder
met
with
flops.
After
this,
AR
Murugadoss
did
not
direct
a
single
film
for
the
last
4
years.
In
this
case,
the
film
1947
is
ready
under
his
production.
The
movie
starring
Gautham
Karthik
is
slated
to
hit
theaters
on
April
7.
AR
Murugadoss
has
been
giving
various
interviews
for
the
promotion
of
the
film.
In
a
recent
interview,
AR
Murugadoss
revealed
the
reason
why
his
film
Darbar
bacame
a
flop.
He
said,
"While
making
Darbar
film,
at
one
point
I
got
a
misunderstanding
that
film
making
comes
so
easy
for
me.
Rajini
Sir
told
me
to
start
shooting
in
March
and
finish
it
quickly.
Because
at
that
time
he
was
planning
to
start
his
political
party
in
August.
I
am
a
huge
Rajini
fan.
So
I
don't
want
to
miss
that
movie
for
any
reason.
Darbar
was
also
rumored
to
be
Rajini's
last
film.
Since
he
was
going
to
enter
politics
after
that,
he
had
to
complete
the
film
from
March
to
June.
So
somehow
I
made
a
plan
to
give
a
hit
with
Rajinikanth.
That's
where
it
failed.
The
film
flopped
due
to
lack
of
proper
planning."
