In a recent interview to a media portal, director AR Murugadoss has revealed the reason why Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Darbar was a flop.

AR Murugadoss is a leading director in the Tamil film industry. Films directed by him like Ramana, Ghajini, Thuppakki, Kaththi, Sarkar are still in the minds of fans. But the last two AR Murugadoss films Darbar and Spyder met with flops. After this, AR Murugadoss did not direct a single film for the last 4 years.

In this case, the film 1947 is ready under his production. The movie starring Gautham Karthik is slated to hit theaters on April 7. AR Murugadoss has been giving various interviews for the promotion of the film. In a recent interview, AR Murugadoss revealed the reason why his film Darbar bacame a flop.

He said, "While making Darbar film, at one point I got a misunderstanding that film making comes so easy for me. Rajini Sir told me to start shooting in March and finish it quickly. Because at that time he was planning to start his political party in August. I am a huge Rajini fan. So I don't want to miss that movie for any reason. Darbar was also rumored to be Rajini's last film. Since he was going to enter politics after that, he had to complete the film from March to June. So somehow I made a plan to give a hit with Rajinikanth. That's where it failed. The film flopped due to lack of proper planning."
