Later, all the films directed by Selvaraghavan became huge hits. Sonia Aggarwal acted in Selvaraghavan's films including 7G Rainbow Colony and Puduppettai. Due to this, love blossomed between the two and they got married in 2006. But their married life lasted only for 2 years. Later, due to a conflict between the two, in 2010, both of them got divorced.

Within a few years of the divorce, Selvaraghavan got married for the second time to Geethanjali. Now this couple has 3 children. But, Sonia Aggarwal, who separated from Selvaraghavan, is living alone till now. Apart from that, she is now playing glamorous characters as she is not getting opportunities to play heroines regularly.

Meanwhile, in an interview Selvaraghavan spoke openly about what his younger brother Dhanush said during his divorce with Sonia Aggarwal. Selva says, "Dhanush came to me when Sonia Aggarwal and I got divorced and told me not to marry again. God has given you a good opportunity. Stay single like this for the rest of your life, he said.

But I was confident that Geethanjali would make a big difference in my life. It means that if you truly love someone, you will surely act well. That is what happened in my life too."
