Guitarist Chandrasekar Passes Away: The Man Who Played Guitar For ‘Ilaya Nila Pozhigirathe’ Song Is No More!
Director Seerkatchi Packil Pandian Bhaskaran has posted a post on his Facebook page. He said, "R Chandrasekhar, who played guitar for the song 'Ilayaraja's Ilaiya Nila' passed away."

Guitarist R Chandrasekar passed away due to ill health. His demise has shocked Tamil cinema fans.
This year has been a sad one for Tamil cinema. The subsequent death of many celebrities has caused unbearable tragedy not only for fans but also for the filmmakers. R Chandrasekar became a famous as a guitarist in Tamil cinema. Chandrasekhar played guitar in many Tamil hit song. He has worked with for popular Music Composers such as KV Mahadevan, MS Viswanathan, Shankar-Ganesh and Divakar as a Guitarist before joining the team of Isai Gnani Ilayaraja. His brother Purushothaman, the popular drummer passed away in the year 2020.
Both of them were Ilayaraja's music commanders. He was the one who play Mouth Organ in the song "Vasantha Nathi" which was featured in the Moondru Mudichu film.
