Neelima Rani Gets Emotional About Her Body-shamed

Neelima Rani made her debut as a child star in Tamil cinema and later went on to gain fame by starring on the small screen and the silver screen. She made her debut as a child star in Kamal Haasan and Sivaji Ganesan's acclaimed movie Devarmagan. Though she hasn't played the lead role in movies, her role in popular movies such as Karthi's Naan Mahaan Ala, Jayam Ravi's Santhosh Subramaniam, Jyothika's Mozhi and Raghava Lawrence's Rajati Raja are evergreen.

The actor has now made the headlines after she spoke about how her husband is being body shamed. Speaking in an interview, she said, "Whenever I go anywhere with my husband, people ask me if he is my grandfather. My husband has a salt-and-pepper hairstyle. He does not like being artificial, so he doesn't dye his hair. I want my husband to feel comfortable and natural. Although I don't care about how others body-shame him, but people tend to bring in me and our kids whenever they talk about my husband." This emotional statement of Neelima has come at the right time as her fans have also been trolling her husband in the comments of her Instagram posts.

On the acting front, Neelima recently played a small yet prominent role in the Tamil movie titled August 16 1947. Directed by NS Ponkumar, the film stars Gautham Karthik, Pugazh, Richard Ashton, and Revathy in the lead roles. Released earlier this month, the film has been receiving positive responses from fans and critics alike.

About the movie, she said in an interview, "My portion for the movie was shot in a day. But the director waited for my call sheet for a long time as I was pregnant. Mt portions were shot after I gave birth to my second baby."
