The ultimate star of K-town Ajithkumar is known for his stupendous performance in his movies. The hero attracted the hearts of many with his charming performances in evergreen love stories like Aasai(1995), Kadhal Kottai(1996), Kadhal Mannan(1998), Kandukondain Kandukondain(2000), and many other films that add to the list.

Out of all the romantic movies that he has worked in, "Amarkalam(1999) gifted him with the love of his life. Ajith and Shalini paired opposite each other for the first time in the movie Amarkalam. The duo was celebrated for their chemistry in the movie. Little did anyone know that the chemistry was not reel but real.

It is said that Shalini was reluctant to play opposite Ajith as she was planning to quit acting. Ajith convinced her to act in the Amarkalam movie. The actor would have never guessed that she would be his pair for life.

The couple got married on the 24th of April 2000, which marks their 23rd wedding anniversary on this day. It is not a cakewalk for a popular couple to have a successful relationship or peaceful marriage for over two decades. The couple has proved that they have grown stronger in their love for each other. They are blessed with two kids, a girl named Anoushka and a boy named Aadvik.

Amarkalam movie director Saran helped Shalini surprise Ajith in a unique way for his birthday while they were dating each other. The actress sent multiple gifts to Saran and asked him to deliver the same to Ajith at 1 pm on his birthday.

Ajith was extremely happy to see all the gifts given to him by Shalini. The gifts were things that Ajith had randomly mentioned to people around him that he would love to have for himself. The thoughtfulness in gifting him with the things that he had always wanted is what made Ajith feel most happy about the surprise.

Director Saran goes on to talk about the unbreakable strong bond between the two that is predominantly evident with them celebrating their love life over 23 years today.

Vignesh Shivan was to direct AK62 but he left the project due to creative differences with the producer. After many rumors and controversies, it is now confirmed that Ajith's next will be directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Ajith's fans are eagerly waiting for the same.
