Superstar Rajinikanth's latest comedy-action entertainer Jailer is going super strong at the box office. The movie written and directed by Nelson, is on its way to create sensational box office history in Tamil, and Indian cinema.

Jailer was released in all major south languages worldwide on August 10. Upon its theatrical release, the movie was reviewed as an above average film, content-wise. However, the charm of Thalaivar Rajinikanth, Anirudh Ravichander's thumping music, Nelson's trademark dark comedy made the movie the most-desirable film all over the southern states.

Jailer Story
The movie is the story of a retired Jailer Muthu, whose son, a strict ACP goes missing. Muthu lives a peaceful life, but when he learns that his son is no more, he sets out to avenge his death. A flashback of Muthu unravels, and there is a twist. What happens next? is to be seen on the big screen.

Rajinikanth's character Muthuvel Pandian is enitrely different from the characters he earlier portrayed. Fans and film buffs thoroughly enjoyed his characterization.

Rajinikanth has re-written his record of becoming the fastest Rs 300 Crore grossing film after 2 Point O. Jailer is the second Tamil film to achieve the feat. Jailer movie stars superstar Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, Naga Babu, Kishore, Redin Kingsley, Saravanan, SunilReddy, Aranthangi Nisha, Uday Mahesh, G Marimuthhu, and Mahanadi Shankar, among others in key roles. In addition, the movie features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar in cameos.

Kalanithi Maran bankrolled the movie under the Sun Pictures banner. The budget was Rs 200 Crore. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera, and Anirudh Ravichander composed outstanding background score and music. R Nirmal worked as the editor of Jailer.
