Superstar Rajinikanth's latest dark comedy-action film Jailer, written and directed by Nelson, is on a rampage at the box office. The movie was released amid huge expectations on August 10, to a thumping response worldwide.

The movie became a surprise hit and set the ticket counters ringing ever since its release, especially in Tamil and Telugu. Anirudh Ravichander's background score and Vijay Karthik Kannan's cinematography, coupled with subtle comedy and nuances from the actors make Jailer a unique experience on the screen.

Retire Jailer Muthuvel Pandian is a simple man who spends his leisure with his family and grandson. His son, ACP Arjun is on a mission to track down a dangerous smuggler Varman (Vinayakan). An attempt on the life of his grandson and his son's missing persuades Muthu to take on his old avatar, thereby going on a killing spree. What happens next? is to be seen on the big screen.
