Jailer: Rajinikanth's Comedy-Thriller Achieves Break-Even In All Languages On Day 7; First Hit After 13 Years!

Superstar Rajinikanth's latest comedy-action thriller titled Jailer, written and directed by Nelson, is on a money-making spree at the box office. The Thalaivar is back on success track with a massive blockbuster in the form of Jailer.

The film's cinematography and music, coupled with performances and dark comedy soared its collection and craze among fans and film buffs. With each passing day, Rajinikanth's Jailer is setting new records and re-writing old ones, raising the bar high.

Jailer's Box Office Records

Superstar Rajinikanth's film is ripping apart the earlier records in Tamil Nadu and Tamil cinema worldwide. The movie Jailer is the first and fastest ever in the history of Tamil cinema to achieve this feat of earning Rs 150 Crore in just a week. And within four days of its theatrical release, the movie earned over Rs 300 Crore worldwide.

Jailer Achieves All-Languages Break-Even On Day 7

On its day 7 at the box office, Jailer achieved break-even in all languages it was released-Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. After Enthiran aka Robo, which was released way back in 2010, it took 13 years for Rajinikanth to achieve break-even and score a massive hit. Incidentally, Jailer is also the first break-even film for Rajinikanth after Enthiran.

Jailer is the story of a retired Muthuvel Pandian, who worked as a Jailer at the Tihar jail. He lives a peaceful life with his family consisting of his son ACP Arjun, wife, daughter-in-law, and grandson. One day, when his son goes missing without a trace, Muthu unleashes his rage until he comes face-to-face with Varman, the deadly gangster involved in smuggling. What happens next? is to be seen on the screen.

The movie stars Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, Sunil Reddy, Redin Kingsley, VTV Ganesh, Saravanan, Uday Mahesh, Aranthangi Nisha, Mahanadi Shankar, G Marimuthu, Jani, Tamannaah, Kishore, Naga Babu, and Makarand Deshpande among others in prominent roles.

Jailer's cinematography was handled by Vijay Karthik Kannan and editing was taken care of by R Nirmal. Anirudh Ravichander composed a sensational background score and music for the film. Kalanithi Maran bankrolled the movie on a budget of about Rs 240 Crore under the Sun Pictures banner.
