Jailer: Superstar Rajinikanth BEATS His Own Record; Nelson's Directorial Crosses Rs 300 Crore Within 3 Days

Superstar Rajinikanth's latest action-comedy titled Jailer, written and directed by Nelson is roaring at the box office. The movie was released on August 10.

Jailer opened to tremendous response across the world on August 10 in all major southern languages. Upon its theatrical release, the movie is reviewed as a partially engaging entertainer although it has several flaws. However, there is no stopping Rajinikanth at the box office.

Rajinikanth Beats His Own Record

The veteran and legendary actor has proved once again why he is called the Thalaivar. Jailer movie crossed Rs 300 Crore Gross mark at the worldwide box office, within three days. The movie is also making big money on its fourth day.

The movie is now officially the second fastest Tamil movie to achieve this feat. The first film was his 2PointO, sequel to Robo. In just four days of its theatrical run, the movie collected about Rs 405.49 Crore.

Jailer Story
The movie is the story of a retired Jailer Muthu, whose son, a strict ACP gets kidnapped. Muthu lives a peaceful life but when he learns that his son was murdered, he sets out to avenge his death. A flashback of Muthu unravels and there is a twist. What happens next, is to be seen on the big screen.

Jailer movie stars superstar Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, Naga Babu, Kishore, Redin Kingsley, Saravanan, SunilReddy, Aranthangi Nisha, Uday Mahesh, G Marimuthhu, and Mahanadi Shankar, among others in key roles. In addition, the movie features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar in cameos.

The movie was bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. The budget was Rs 200 Crore. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera, and Anirudh Ravichander composed outstanding background score and music. R Nirmal worked as the editor of Jailer.
