James Vasanthan Slams Ilayaraja For His Irresponsible Speech About Jesus Christ; Says 'He Talked Nonsense..'

James Vasanthan

Ilayaraja is a legend of music in Tamil cinema. He has stolen the hearts of crores of fans through his music. And we can say that there are no people who are not mesmerized by his music. But of late there are many allegations against Ilayaraja that too in the past few years. Many people have been criticizing Ilayaraja for not having good stage manners and talking badly about others.

One among them is James Vasanthan, a popular music composer and host. He has been criticizing Ilayaraja for a long time. In such a situation, in an interview given to a media portal recently, he has made severe criticisms about Ilayaraja.

James Vasanthan says in that interview that Ilayaraja deserves the awards given to him but as a fellow human being he is very low. "Ilayaraja was into spirituality for many years. As you go deeper into spirituality, qualities like generosity, humility, tolerance and acceptance will come. But Ilayaraja says he is going into spirituality and talks dirty.

For example, Ilayaraja speaking at a Google event talked nonsense about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the belief of Christians, and said that only Ramana Maharishi had actually resurrected. Is he a history teacher to talk like that? Or a great researcher? Isn't what he says hurtful to Jesus Christ believers? It is because of that intelligence that he thinks only he is right by insulting others like that, so I call him a bad person.

And I know that what I say will go on social media and I will be scolded for it. I have been in this industry for many years. There are definitely some people in the town who follow film celebrities as role models. So I have to behave properly. The only price we pay when we become popular in society and enjoy a lot of recognition is the loss of individuality and independence.

In any way, when we are famous, we must develop the character to behave responsibly. This is a moral dilemma in public life. If there is one person who lacks even a little of this trait, it is Ilayaraja. I am not allowed to talk about his personal life. But it is the way he behaves when he exposes himself to this society that holds him in such high esteem as a famous man", says James Vasanthan.
