Manobala's demise: Veteran Tamil actor Manobala passed away last week and sent shock waves across the Kollywood industry. He breathed his last on May 3 after suffering chest pain and liver related ailments. Celebrities and fans offered condolences on social media. Some celebrities even went to his residence and paid homage to the late actor.

In her recent interview, Suhasini Haasan told about the relationship that Kamal Haasan and Manobala shared. She said, "It was my uncle Kamal who introduced Manobala to the industry. They were very close in the beginning. But later they had a fall out and stopped talking to each other. It went on for so long, so much so that even Kamal wouldn't go to places where Manobala was present. Manobala has also often felt bad about it."

Rajinikanth offered condolences

Following the demise of Manobala, several celebrities offered their condolences. Rajinikanth called Manobala his good friend and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. Bharathiraja shared a video message recalling his memories with Manobala.

Some celebrities like Vijay and Udayanidhi Stalin visited Manobala's residence and offered their homage. Actor Karthi took to Twitter and expressed how shocked he was when he heard the news.

Ilaiyaraja's controversial video

Meanwhile, the video that Ilayaraja shared about Manobala caused an outrage on social media. In the video he recalled how Manobala was one of the very many filmmakers who stood on streets to get an opportunity to meet him. Fan's valles him arrogant and insensitive as he concentrated on himself even during such a dark time.

Manobala was suffering from age related ailments. He was also suffering from liver-related ailments due to his excessive smoking habit. Manobala advocated against smoking wherever possible, explaining people how much of a negative effect it would cause to a person.
