Producer-Actor-Politician Udhyanidhi Stalin's one of the last films which he finished shooting for as a protagonist a long time ago is finally hitting the screens. Written and directed by Mu Maran, the latest film titled 'Kannai Nambathey' is ready to release all over Tamil Nadu and in a few parts of the world on March 17. The movie has Aathmika as the female lead character opposite Udhyanidhi Stalin.

Touted to be a crime thriller, Kannai Nambathey, which literally translates to 'Don't trust your eyes', has garnered adequate pre-release buzz ahead of its release. The trailer looks promising with the actor delivering his best performance. Although the movie was earlier said to be earmarked for a release in February, it was eventually delayed. The production also got delayed several times. Mu Maran, who earlier helmed 'Iravukku Aayiram Kangal' is confident about the film.

On the release day, Kannai Nambathey is estimated to collect around Rs 5-7 Crore. The movie was made on a budget of about Rs 30 Crore

The movie stars Srikanth, Bhumika Chawla, Sathish, and Subiksha Krishnan in key roles. The movie is a production venture of VN Ranjith Kumar under the Lipi Cine Crafts banner. The film's cinematography was handled by Jalandhar Vasan and edited by San Lokesh. Siddhu Kumar composed the film's entire soundtrack and music.
