Leo Box Office Collection Day 17: Vijay’s Film Crosses 200Cr In Tamil Nadu; Continues Its Winning Streak

Thalapathy Vijay has all the reasons to be on cloud nine and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Leo has emerged as one of the biggest box office hits of the year. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie features Trisha Krishnan as the female lead and Sanjay Dutt as the lead antagonist. It has been the recent entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) and has been ruling the box office since the first day.

And as Leo has entered the third week of release, it continues with its winning streak at the box office. After a phenomenal start at the box office with Rs 64.8 crores, it has been touching new milestones almost every day. For the uninitiated, Leo was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. As per a recent update, Leo has now made headlines for crossing another milestone in Tamil Nadu.

The movie which has been creating a massive buzz in the town has reported crossed the Rs 200 crores mark in Tamil Nadu today. According to a report published in Sacnilk, it had crossed Rs 198.65 crores till day 16 of release. Interestingly, Leo is enjoying a successful run all over the country and has managed to cross Rs 300 crore mark in the second week.

In fact, it has crossed Rs 320 crores mark in the third week and is now inching towards Rs 325 crore. Reportedly, Leo will be minting Rs 3 crores at the box office today (day 17/third Saturday) which will take the overall collection of the movie to Rs 322.75 crores.

Meanwhile, Leo has been thriving at the worldwide box office as well. After all, it has managed to cross Rs 500 crores mark within six days of release. Reportedly, the movie has earned Rs 506.4 crores in six days worldwide and has emerged as the fastest Tamil film to achieve the milestone. Earlier, talking about this much anticipated Thalapthy Vijay starrer action thriller, Lokesh Kanagraj said, "Leo is a very special film for me. I have tried something experimental. I have no words to describe the amount of work that Vijay Anna put in for this movie. And I am eager to show everything to the audience".
