The
year
2023
has
turned
out
to
be
quite
impressive
for
Thalapathy
Vijay
and
there
are
no
second
thoughts
about
it.
After
the
success
of
Varisu,
the
superstar
is
now
making
headlines
for
his
recent
release
Leo.
Also
starring
Trisha
Krishnan
and
Sanjay
Dutt,
the
action
thriller
was
helmed
by
Lokesh
Kanagaraj
and
is
the
recent
addition
to
the
Lokesh
Cinematic
Universe
(LCU).
While
Leo
was
one
of
the
most
anticipated
releases
of
the
year,
it
had
opened
to
mixed
reviews
from
the
audience.
Though
fans
have
been
in
awe
of
Thalapathy
Vijay's
performance,
the
storyline
and
VFX
failed
to
leave
a
mark
on
the
viewers.
However,
this
hasn't
affected
the
box
office
performance
of
Leo
as
it
has
been
roaring
loudly
since
the
first
day.
From
a
thunderous
start
to
crossing
300
crores
in
the
second
week,
Leo
has
been
enjoying
an
impressive
run
at
the
ticket
windows.
But
as
it
is
venturing
into
the
third
week,
Leo
seems
to
be
witnessing
a
continuous
drop
in
collections.
According
to
a
report
published
in
Sacnilk,
Leo
is
likely
to
mint
Rs
2.89
crores
which
will
take
the
overall
collection
of
the
movie
to
Rs
317.96
crores.
To
note,
it
has
failed
to
beat
Rajinikanth's
Jailer
which
had
minted
Rs
3.05
crores
on
its
day
15.
It
is
evident
that
Leo
is
inching
fast
towards
Rs
320
crores
and
is
likely
to
cross
the
mark
during
the
third
weekend.
Meanwhile,
Leo
has
been
thriving
at
the
worldwide
box
office
as
well.
After
all,
it
has
managed
to
cross
Rs
500
crores
mark
within
six
days
of
release.
Reportedly,
the
movie
has
earned
Rs
506.4
crores
in
six
days
worldwide
and
has
emerged
as
the
fastest
Tamil
film
to
achieve
the
milestone.
Earlier,
talking
about
this
much
anticipated
Thalapthy
Vijay
starrer
action
thriller,
Lokesh
Kanagraj
said,
"Leo
is
a
very
special
film
for
me.
I
have
tried
something
experimental.
I
have
no
words
to
describe
the
amount
of
work
that
Vijay
Anna
put
in
for
this
movie.
And
I
am
eager
to
show
everything
to
the
audience".
