Leo Twitter Review: Thalapathy Vijay’s Action Thriller FAILS To Leave A Mark; Fans Call It A Disaster

Leo FAILS To Impress The Audience

Thalapathy Vijay has been all over the headlines these days courtesy of his recent release Leo. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie happens to be an action thriller and was among the most anticipated releases of the year. After all, it featured Trisha Krishnan in the lead and also had a face off between Vijay and Sanjay Dutt who plays the role of a lead antagonist. And while Leo has released among the massive fanfare, it seems to have emerged as a disaster at the ticket windows.

Ever since Leo has hit the theatres this morning, the social media is abuzz with tweets wherein fans have been expressing their disappointment towards the movie. From the slow storyline to the disappointing climax and CGI, fans have been quite disheartened with this Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. Looks like even Thalapathy Vijay's charisma failed to save Leo.

Taking to the microp-blogging site Twitter (now X), ace trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan wrote, "Tried to be a lion but ended up as a cat. Despite a promising premise and some commendable efforts from Joseph Vijay and cast, the end result is a disappointment. Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo fails to live up to the expectations or unnecessary hype. Also, the film does not maintain a consistent level of engagement, leading to moments of boredom that detract from the overall viewing experience. The film is no where near Vikram or Kaithi, it is the weakest in Lokesh career. A Mediocre Effort".

On the other hand, people have also claimed that LCU references looked forced in Leo which was a disappointment as well. "#Leo Good first half followed by a average second where the crucial flashback portion doesn't do any help to the film. The emotional scenes and post flashback scenes are done neat but it required the flashback to establish the character equations. Overall a watchable fare with the LCU references also looking forced. Vijay is impressive but Lokesh isn't at his best," ForumKeralam tweeted.

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay's Leo witnessed a grand advance booking at the ticket windows and made a collection of Rs 46.36 crores. Reportedly, over 24 lakh tickets were sold for the first day for Leo which was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
