Thalapathy Vijay

Leo Faces 'Thalapathy Controversy': Leo film crew had requested permission from the Tamil Nadu government for special shows of the film and it has been granted from October 19 to 24.

Partiality For Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer?

Produced by Lalit Kumar and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo movie is releasing on 19th October. Vijay's previous film Varisu and Ajith's movie Thunivu were released on Pongal this year. At that time, fans had gathered in large numbers to watch the 4 AM special show at Rohini Theater in Chennai, where a fan fell down from a lorry and died.

The incident created strong debates in Tamil Nadu. Due to this, it was announced that 4 am FDFS and 7 am special show are no longer allowed in Tamil Nadu. In such a situation, Superstar Rajinikanth's movie Jailer was released on 10th August. No special shows were screened for the film at 4 AM even on the first day and the first show was screened at 9 AM.

Thalapathy MK Stalin Vs Thalapathy Vijay

To avoid such problems, the Leo movie team had planned to release the film a day earlier on the evening of October 18th. At the same time, the producers had approached the Tamil Nadu government seeking permission to screen Leo's special show for 6 days from October 19th to 24th. Accepting it, the Tamil Nadu government has allowed Leo to screen 5 shows daily without specifying the time.

According to reports, the movie Leo will be released only on the first day at 4 am and after that only 5 shows can be screened daily. In the government order it has been mentioned as 'Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay' which has created another controversy as MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is popularly known as 'Thalapathy' by his followers all over the state. Savukku Shankar mentioned in his tweet, "Home Secretary Amutha IAS seems to be a Vijay Fan."

"I think she would have put the entire notes given by the producer in the first paragraph and replied in second para. Anyway, she could have been carefull in producing print out as it would create controversies." says a netizen who replied to Savukku Shankar's tweet.
