Leo Is Top Day 1 Worldwide Grosser From India In 2023

As millions of fans all around the world waited with bated breaths, the much-hyped action-thriller of the year, Leo, finally hit the screens on October 19. Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have set off another firecracker that is going to rewrite the history of Tamil cinema and impact Indian cinema on a global level.

The movie has set a benchmark for advance ticket booking sales and opening day collections with its unprecedented craze not just in Tamil Nadu and India, but also all over the world.

Leo is reviewed as a film with a terrific first half and a not-so-good second half, which was weakened by a lack of solid conflict points, powerful flashbacks episodes, and villains. Despite roping in actors like Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja, Leo's second half made the movie face diverse reactions from the fans as well as critics.

However, the movie's box office collections are continuing to surpass the records set by any other film in the country, not just South India. Leo earned as much as Rs 146.15 Crore from its day 1 box office collection worldwide. It has also become the 7th Rs 200 Crore Gross film of Thalapathy Vijay.

Leo is produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy under the Seven Screen Studio banner on a budget of about Rs 300 Crore. Philomin Raj and Manoj Paramahamsa worked as the film's editor and cinematographer.
