While
the
Saidapet
court
sentenced
famous
director
Lingusamy
to
6
months
imprisonment
in
a
cheque
fraud
case,
now
the
Chennai
Principal
Sessions
Court
has
confirmed
the
sentence.
Lingusamy
made
his
debut
as
a
promising
director
in
Tamil
cinema
with
the

After
the
success
of
Anandham,
he
directed
films
such
as

Apart
from
that,
he
runs

production
company
named

and
is
producing
many
films.
In
particular,
he

At
the
same
time,
Anjaan,
directed
and
produced
by
Lingusamy
starring
Suriya,
was
released
in
2014
amid
great
expectations
and
turned
into
a
flop.
The
next
big
fall
for
Lingusamy,
who
suffered
a
huge
loss,
was
Kamal
Haasan's
Utthama
Villain.
Due
to
this,
Lingusamy
was
stuck
in
a
heavy
financial
burden.
It
was
at
this
stage
that
he
took
a
loan
of
Rs
1.3
crores
from
the
famous
production
company
PVP
Capitals
for
the
production
of
a
new
film
titled
"Enni
Yezhu
Naal".
Karthi
and
Samantha
were
signed
to
act
in
that
movie.
However,
the
shooting
of
the
film
did
not
go
as
planned.
It
was
eventually
abandoned.
At
the
same
time,
PVP
Capitals
filed
a
case
in
the
High
Court
claiming
that
Lingusamy
had
not
repaid
the
loan
of
Rs
1.3
crores
within
the
mentioned
period.
Following
the
court
order,
Lingusamy
submitted
the
cheques.
A
cheque
for
Rs
35
lakh
bounced
due
to
insufficient
funds
in
the
bank
account.
Following
this,
the
PVP
company
filed
a
cheque
fraud
case
against
Lingusamy
in
Saidapet
court.
The
trial
court
sentenced
Lingusamy
to
6
months
imprisonment
and
ordered
him
to
pay
the
debt
along
with
interest.
Against
this,
Lingusamy
filed
an
appeal
in
the
Chennai
District
Principal
Sessions
Court.
Judge
Alli,
who
handled
the
case,
dismissed
his
appeal.
