Maaveeran IJK Flag Case: The Chennai High Court has ordered Maaveeran film crew to change the footages so that it does not portray the flag of Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK).

Directed by Madonne Ashwin, Maaveeran starring Sivakarthikeyan is all set to hit the theaters on July 14 with high expectations. The film stars Aditi Shankar, Saritha, director Mysskin and Yogi Babu in lead roles. The film is made in 2 languages Tamil and Telugu.

IJK Filed A Case Against Maaveeran

As the film Maaveeran is releasing tomorrow, the promotion of the film is going on in full swing. When the trailer of the film was released last month, IJK General Secretary B. Jayaselan filed a case in the Madras High Court demanding that if the trailer featured flags representing the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi, the color of the flag should be changed, and if the film was released without such change, the film should be banned.

When the case came up for hearing today before Justice RN Manjula, advocate Dr V Venkatesan appeared for the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi and said that the party's flag in red-white-red color layers has been used in the film.

Disclaimer For 65 Seconds

Not only the flag but also the vest worn by the party members who appear in the film. He also alleged that the party's flag was used in all the junior artists' scarves.

In the order issued by Judge Manjula, who heard the arguments of both sides, she said, "The film production company to publish a disclaimer for 40 seconds at the beginning of the film, 15 seconds after the break, 10 seconds at the end of the film, stating that no political party is targeted.

The film should be aired on OTT and satellite channels only after changing the color of the flag in all the mentioned footages so that it does not portray the flag of Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK)."
