Information has been released about the surprise update that the team of Ponniyin Selvan 2 is going to release on February 14th, Valentine's Day.

Ponniyin Selvan, which was the dream movie of Tamil cinema, got released only last year after years of efforts. The main reason for this to happen is Mani Ratnam and Lyca. The film, produced by both of them, was released in September last year and became a blockbuster hit across the world. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film had a huge star cast including Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Trisha.

Based on Ponniyin Selvan novel written by Kalki, the film was composed by AR Rahman. The team had planned to release the film in two parts and released the first part on September 30 last year. As expected, the film also raked in the collections. The film collected a total of over Rs 500 crores and created a record.

Accordingly, Lyca announced that the film will be released in a grand manner on 28th of April. Strong sources from the film industry says that they are planning to release the first song of Ponniyin Selvan 2 on Valentine's Day on February 14. It is said to be a love song between Arunmozhivarman and Vanathi. According to reports, an official announcement about the song is likely to be made soon.
