In this situation, director Mari Selvaraj has explained his speech about the movie Thevar Magan in a recent interview to a leading media portal.

Mari Selvaraj's Emotional Letter To Kamal Haasan

He said, "It was a very emotional moment. Kamal Haasan watched my film Maamannan and he is going to talk about my film on stage. He knew how emotional I was then. The letter I wrote 13 years ago was written with the anger and language of that day. At that time I did not have the habit of reading.

Kamal Haasan is the only person in Tamil cinema who has seen 'Mamannan'. Only he and I know how emotional I was watching that movie with him. The fact that he recognized me after seeing my film, held my hand and praised me was the biggest achievement in my life. When he is sitting in front of me, if I won't talk about the thing that has been inside me for so many days. I will talk to him about it later. I will have started somewhere and gone somewhere.

Anger Between Father and Son

While speaking on stage, Kamal Haasan said, 'This film is not only about Mari's politics, but also about all of us'. What more could you want? You can even say that is my success. I don't want to lose that love and warmth that I got from him. Who did I talk to? I spoke to a soul, a personality who was close to art, trusted and understood art. He also spoke in favor of me and patted my head and left. What more could you want?

In other words, this is an anger between father and son. I see it as a moment when the boy who left home in anger spoke to his father after not understanding him properly." Mari Selvaraj has said this.
