Noted Producer SS Chakravarthy(Nic Arts), Who Made Nine Consecutive Films With Ajith Kumar, Passes Away

Kollywood's noted filmmaker SS Chakravarthy died due to health issues in the wee hours of April 29. As a producer, SS Chakravarthy had made about twenty films with superstars like Ajith Kumar, Vikram, and Simbu among others. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai.

According to the available information, Chakravarthy, who was known as a filmmaker with taste, was suffering from illness. His health deteriorated recently. None of the treatment worked on him and finally, on the unfateful day of April 29, he breathed his last. Condolences are pouring in for the family of SS Chakravarthy after the news broke out.

Starting from 1997 to 2006, SS Chakravarthy bankrolled about ten movies consecutively with Ajith Kumar under his banner NIC Arts. Another movie Kadhal Sadugudu starring Vikram was released in 2003.

Chakravarthy also dabbled in acting in his career in the Kollywood film industry. He made his debut as an actor with the film titled 'Thoppi' in the year 2015. His last appearance was in a web series titled 'Vilangu' on Zee 5.

Check out the list of films he made with Ajith Kumar from 1997. Starting with Raasi, SS Chakravarthy produced films including the super hit Vaali, Mugavaree, Citizen, Red, Villain, Anjaneya, Ji, and Varalaru.

Under the NIC Arts banner, films like Kadhal Sadugudu with Vikram, Kaalai and Vaalu with Simbu. His son, Johnny debuted as an actor with 2009 film Renigunta. He also starred in 18 Vayasu movie. Most of the films produced by SS Chakravarthy are super successful films.

Needless to say, Chakravarthy's role was phenemonal in shaping the career of Ajith Kumar, one of the leading superstars of the Tamil industry today. Ajith became popular throughout the southern states with 'Vaali' in which he portrayed a dual role. The movie made him an overnight star back in the day.
