The second part of Ponniyin Selvan is set to hit the theaters on Friday and fans are more than excited. If you are one of the fans who watched the first part but haven't read the novel yet, we've got you covered. So, if you are planning to watch the second part of Ponniyin Selvan, read on to know more on what to expect and what might happen in the sequel.

The first part ended with dreadful information on the demise of the Chola king, Arunmozhi Varman aka Ponniyin Selvan. We also saw Oomai Nayagi aka Mandhagini Devi diving into the ocean in an attempt to save Arunmozhi. So, the second part may begin with the revelation of whether she was able to rescue the king or not.

We might also get to see more chemistry between Vandhiyadevan and Kundavai. There will be an angle of a triangular love story that would happen between Arunmozhi Varman, Samuthira Kumari aka Poonguzhali, and Vanadhi. We will get to see the striking chemistry between them, and the Chola king will also unite with either one of them.

While there is a battle for power on who gets to sit on the throne, we will see the rise of an unexpected character, Sendhan Amudhan. There will be elaborate portions for prince Madhurandhagan, and he will join the evil forces of the Pandiya camp. He will also join forces with Nandhini and will owe to destroy the Chola kingdom.

There will be more strategic planning, which will be executed by Queen Kundavai along with the ministers of the kingdom. We will get to witness the true self of King Adithya Karikalan, and his love angle with a princess of a small kingdom, Manimegalai.
Before you head to the theatres, be prepared to witness the death of one of the aforementioned important characters.

To recall a bit, Karthi plays Vandhiyadevan, while Trisha Krishnan plays Kundhavai. The role of Adithya Karikalan is played by Chiyaan Vikram, while Jayam Ravi plays Arunmozhi Varman. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays two roles - Nandhini and Oomai Rani, while Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Samudhira Kumari. Rahman plays the role of Madhurandhagan.
