Veera Raja Veera Song Allegation

All the songs featured in the second part of Ponniyin Selvan movie doesn't attract fans unlike the first part. Lyrics for the song 'Veera Raja Veera' penned by Ilango Krishnan; Shankar Mahadevan, KS Chitra and Harini have sung the song. In this case, Delhi-based Hindustani musician Ustad Wasifuddin Tagar has complained that the music of this song was taken from his ancestors' song.

The original song was composed by Tagar brothers in 'Athana' raga. Notable among the famous musicians in Hindustani music are the Tagar brothers. They sang the song in 1978 in a concert in Holland. In this situation, he has alleged that Rahman has used it in Ponniyin Selvan without proper permission from his family. He has also written a letter to Rahman regarding this.
