Executive Producer Shares His PS Journey

Famous producer and executive producer of the film, Siva Anand, participated in a recent interview to a leading media portal shared a lot of interesting information about the way the film was made and the shooting process.

Talking about the years it took to make Ponniyin Selvan film, "In 1990, Kamal sir was interviewed in a magazine. He said we are going to make Ponniyin Selvan. Director Mani Ratnam is the right person to direct it.

I bought Ponniyin Selvan book and read it only after reading it. Then in 1998, when I joined Mani sir, I asked him about Ponniyin Selvan film. He said he didn't know if it would happen. We made an attempt in 2003.

We wrote the screenplay and selected the actors and left it at that. In 2007, when Kamal Haasan came, I asked him about Ponniyin Selvan. He said that it was difficult to write a screenplay, so I left it. We made a big effort in 2010. That's what brought Ponniyin Selvan closer to the film. We decided that writer Jayamohan is writing the story."
