pre-release
event
of
the
much-awaited
sequel,
Mani
Ratnam's
Ponniyin
Selvan
2
was
organized
in
Hyderabad,
to
make
up
for
the
promotional
campaign
as
well.
The
film
was
gearing
up
for
a
huge
worldwide
theatrical
release
on
April
28.
Speaking
on
the
occasion,
Vikram
said,
"It
feels
like
home
to
be
here
because
I
have
worked
in
several
Telugu
films
at
the
beginning
of
my
career.
I
still
remember
many
places
near
Panjagutta
and
Banjara
Hills.
However,
back
then,
I
wanted
to
become
a
big
hero
in
Telugu
and
work
with
the
directors
here,
but
today,
thanks
to
OTT,
we
are
popular
and
reaching
out
to
everybody."
Vikram
thanked
everybody
in
the
cast
and
crew
of
Ponniyin
Selvan
2
and
spoke
at
length
about
director
Mani
Ratnam,
whom
he
addressed
as
his
Guru.
At
the
same
time,
Vikram
also
mentioned
that
Mani
Ratnam
promised
him
100
films,
and
they
are
still
only
four
down.

remaining

working
on
it," he
added.
Speaking
about
Karthi,
who
played
Vandiyadevan
in
the
movie,
Vikram
said,
"Karthi
my
brother,
you
are
my
senior
that
way,
that
is
you

two
films
senior
as
an
assistant
director
to
Mani
Ratnam
and
I
was
doing
for
a
part-time
as
assistant
director
2."

a

Ratnam

dialogues
are
penned
by
B
Jeyamohan
in
Tamil
and
Tanikella
Bharani
in
Telugu.
The
movie
has
music
and
score
rendered
by
none
other
than
AR
Rahman.
Acclaimed
cinematographer-cum-director
Ravi
Varman
cranked
the
camera,
and
A
Sreekar
Prasad,
who
won
a
National
Award
for
his
work,
has
taken
care
of
the
film's
editing.
Subaskaran
Allirajah
of

Productions
bankrolled

movie
