Ponniyin Selvan 2, the epic historic saga of the Cholas, as narrated by Kalki Krishnamurthy in his novel by the name Ponniyin Selvan, finally made it to the big screen with the relentless pursuit of legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The movie was released in two parts 1 & 2 which are now officially the highest grossing movies of Tamil, in Tamil Nadu.

The sequel to the first part which was released on September 30, 2022, along with Kantara became an instant hit with a positive word-of-mouth after hitting the screens on April 28.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 Story

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's literary work by the same name, Ponniyin Selvan charts the journey of the Chola King Arunmozhi Varman, who later on was remembered as the Raja Raja Chola. The first part dealt with the introduction of the key characters and how Arunmozhi Varman is saved by a mysterious woman named 'Vooma Rani.'

The sequel will unfold events as Arunmozhi Varman continues on his journey to become the King; Nandini's plan to avenge Aditya Karikalan, the backstory of Vooma Rani, etc.
