The Coromandel Express collided with a derailed freight train on its way to Chennai from Kolkata's Shalimar station. The death toll from this train accident continues to rise. More than 280 people have died tragically as per reports.

More than 280 people were killed and around 900 injured when three trains collided in Odisha's Balasore. It is the worst train accident in the country in over 20 years.

Three Trains Collided

Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a freight train collided in a shocking incident last evening. Coaches of Coromandel passenger trains were blown away when they collided with each other.

Aerial footage of the crash site are now going viral on social media. The railway ministry has ordered an inquiry into the train accident which took place around 7 pm on Friday near Anaka Pahanaga railway station in Balasore district, 250 km south of Kolkata and 170 km north of Bhubaneswar.

Prime Minister Modi held an emergency meeting with officials. After this, the Prime Minister will go to the place where the train accident took place. He is also going to personally meet and console those injured in the accident who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin visited MGR Central railway station this morning and held a meeting with officials. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has rushed to the spot. This horrific train accident has sent shockwaves across the country.

In such a situation, actress Priya Anand shared a tweet about the accident on her official Twitter handle. She shared a video taken at the accident spot and mentioned, "Devastating! Unacceptable negligence.."

Netizens are reacting to her tweet. Many of them agreed that it is due to 100% negligence. One of them said, "Scary.. With all huge technology and equipment available today, there's nothing more powerful than a little negligence.." At the same time, there are other people who also says, "Lets not conclude negligence now, time to act n recover pls"
