'Rajinikanth Is Senseless & A Coward...' Says Sr NTR's Widow; Superstar's Speech In AP Causes Political Furore

Superstar Rajinikanth, who generally maintains a diplomatic image when it comes to taking a political stand, hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The veteran became the subject of trolls and was targeted by politicians in Andhra Pradesh.

Digging deep, the other day, to mark the centenary celebrations of the late Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (Sr NTR), Superstar Rajinikanth had flown to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He spoke at length about how he was inspired by NTR to venture into films and how he has looked up to him after watching his 'Pathala Bhairavi' in theatres, his first-ever theatrical experience.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, a noted politician and one of the pillars of Tollywood, is the son of Sr NTR. Sr NTR, who established the Telugu Desam Party and successfully became a Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, was allegedly backstabbed by his son-in-law, the current president of the party, supported by his family. The issue was age-old and is in the know-how of all Telugu-speaking people from the two States.

During the centenary celebrations, Rajinikanth spoke highly of Sr NTR and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. His speech caused an uproar among the political leaders and parties. Although it wasn't known if his speech was agenda-driven, it cost him so much.

In light of the entire issue, Sr NTR's widow Lakshmi Parvathi made startling comments about Rajinikanth. Speaking to the NTV news channel, Lakshmi Parvathi said, "For someone who is afraid of coming into active politics and establishing a political party, today, as a cinema person, you stay at it and speak of NTR. But this entire event was designed around praising Chandrababu Naidu. If you really mean this, it is like you are backstabbing NTR, just like Chandrababu."

"NTR gave you TTD Board membership and now you are supporting Chandrababu. This is not right. There is no coward like you and Chandrababu. Rajinikanth is senseless and ignorant. Just go back to history. In TN, Rajinikanth was encouraged by BJP. But when he was supposed to launch a political party, he used to get admitted to a hospital. I think TDP wants to use Rajinikanth to get support from BJP," added Lakshmi Parvathy.

Meanwhile, YSRCP leaders, actress-turned-minister Roja Selvamani, Kodali Nani, among others openly ridiculed Rajinikanth. In addition, on social media platforms, Rajinikanth has become a hot topic for trolls. A meme fest was going on on Twitter, especially.
