It came as a shocking piece of information after it was announced that popular Tamil filmmaker SS Chakraborty died on Saturday after battling cancer. The filmmaker has delivered several hit movies with Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, and some of the movies remain timeless classics even now. However, the duo had a falling apart after a few years. In an interview, Valaipechu Anandhan has revealed the reason behind their rift.

Valaipechu Anthanan, who had worked with both Ajith and SS Chakraborty, revealed in the interview that there were many reasons for the rift between the two. One of them was that Ajith had signed many cheques given by SS Chakraborty, but the filmmaker had misused the funds for other purposes. Ajith got upset about this and decided to end his association with Chakravarthy.

To recall, Ajith's career graph saw a huge jump after his association with Chakravarthy's popular production house Nic Arts, which produced his early films including Rasi in 1997, which was the Valimai star's first film under the banner. Nick Arts also produced many of Ajith's subsequent films such as Vaalli, Citizen, Red, Villain, Anjaneya, Ji, Varalaaru, and Villain.

However, Ajith stopped working under the Nick Arts banner due to some issues with Chakravarty. SS Chakravarthy went on to produce other films after parting ways with Ajith, including Renikunda and Valu. He also produced a successful web series Vilangu starring Vimal before his death.
