Shutting Down Voices Leads To Misunderstandings

"It is so sad and shameful to see how the Indian wrestlers and the ones supporting them are being treated. I cannot even imagine how they must be feeling right now. To be denied of their respect and dignity in front of the whole world! To be treated so inhumane!

We should support the ones who make such a big effort to represent our country and our values abroad. We should be behind them as they are behind India, wearing India on their sleeves.

Shutting down voices like this only leads to misunderstandings and doesn't allow us to come together as one. I truly hope this gets resoved soon. This is heartbreaking!" says Ritika Sing.

Sexual Harrasment Complaint Against BJP Member of Parliament

Seven female wrestlers, who won medals in international wrestling competitions, protested for three days last January after making a sexual harrasment complaint against Brij Bhushan Singh, President of the Indian Wrestling Federation and BJP Member of Parliament.

Following this, women wrestlers who had been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for over a month were forcibly evicted. The protest was shifted to Haridwar as the Delhi Police said that there was no permission to protest at Jantar Mantar.

Today (30.05.2023) evening, wrestlers and sportswomen visited the Ganges to condemn the central government for not taking action on sexual complaints. A heated argument broke out between the protesting female wrestlers and the police. The attacks on those who are fighting for justice are very cruel, and opinions are coming from many quarters.

Indian Female Wrestlers Shed Tears

Bronze winners Sakshi Malik, Vinod Phogat and others are sitting on the ground with their medals and shedding tears as they do not get proper response to the wrestlers who are constantly struggling. The police stopped the sportswomen and women who came to throw the Olympic and international medals into the river Ganges and held talks.

The wrestlers have given 5 days to the central government to take action against Brij Bhushan following the request made by the farmers association president.
