RS Shivaji used to act in character roles in Tamil cinema. He played the role of a policeman in the successful film Apoorva Sagotharargal produced and acted by Kamal Haasan.

In this movie, his dialogue saying 'Sir Neenge Engayo Poiteenga Sir' attracted the fans. After that, in most of the movies produced by Rajkamal Films, RS Shivaji was given some role to perform.

He acted in films like Villain, Ayudha Ezhuthu, Kolamavu Kokila, Surarai Pottru. He last played the role of Sai Pallavi's father in Gargi. In this case RS Shivaji died in Chennai this morning due to illness. His death has shocked many. A video of him talking about Kamal Haasan is now going viral.

Earlier he had given an interview to a leading media portal about Kamal Haasan. He said, "Kamal is the reason I am alive. I will never forget to thank him. I had 4 holes in my heart. I asked him for help in treatment. He took care of all the treatment for me.
