Shanthi Williams Recalls Selling Her Rs. 100 Crore House And Being Homeless With Her Kids For THIS Reason

Legendary actress Shanthi Williams needs no introduction in Tamil Nadu. Be it her versatile acting or her journey in the industry, she has been occupying the headlines a lot in the recent past. She has been appearing in interviws and she has also been sharng memories from her past, both personally and professionally. They are all making the headlines as her fans are sharing insights from her interviews on social media. In a recent interaction with a YouTube channel, Shanthi recalled how she had to sell her home which is worth Rs. 100 crore in today's rate.

She said, "My husband has a passion for cars. He owned so many cars in our home and wherever he wanted to go he would go only by car. Before 1966, my husband Williams produced movies which did not do well in theaters and they all brought us huge loss. Because of these movies, we had to sell so many of our properties I owned a house in Chennai's KK Nagar. We had to sell it to repay our debts. Today, if you want to buy that house, it would cost you about Rs. 100 crore. After selling that house, I was homeless along with my four kids. Now, I am working really hard to gain that status back, and gain the money that we lost."

She added that she has been working really hard to earn the money that her family lost from producing the movies. She has been playing various roles in several Tamil serials in the past few decades.

Shanthi Williams is known for her roles in TV serials and her unforgettable role is in the Sun TV's popular serial Metti Oli. In 2021, she was also facilitated with Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu government to honor her contribution to the entertainment industry.
