Jailer, superstar Rajinikanth's latest dark comedy-action thriller written and directed by Nelson, is on a box office rampage all over Tamil Nadu and the two Telugu-speaking states. The movie crossed Rs 400 Crore worldwide share within one week of its theatrical release.
Jailer is the story of a retired Muthuvel Pandian, who worked as a Jailer at the Tihar jail. He lives a peaceful life with his family consisting of his son ACP Arjun, wife, daughter-in-law, and grandson. One day, when his son goes missing without a trace, Muthu unleashes his rage until he comes face-to-face with Varman, the deadly gangster involved in smuggling. Jailer Sets A Remarkable Milestone On Book My Show
The movie, which people are currently going crazy about has achieved a phenomenal milestone on the famous ticketing website, book my show. For the Independence Day weekend of 2023, Jailer set a hard-to-beat record of selling 6 million tickets.

Jailer features an ensemble cast and has special cameos from the neighboring southern film industries. In the movie, Rajinikanth played the role of Muthuvel Pandian, a retire Jailer at Tihar prison. Vinayakan played the role of antagonist Varman, Ramya Krishnan as Muthu's wife, Vasanth Ravi as ACP Arjun, Muthu's son, Sunil as Blast Mohan, an actor, Yogi Babu as Vimal, a taxi driver, Aranthangi Nisha, among others played important roles in the movie.
Jailer is made on a budget of about Rs 240 Crore by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's entire background score and tunes. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera and R Nirmal worked as the film's editor. So far, within just seven days of its theatrical release, the movie earned a worldwide gross of Rs 400 Crore and more.
