Thalapathy Vijay's Master: Shanthanu Regrets Speaking About Chopped-Off Role In Lokesh Kanagaraj's Directorial
Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial action film titled 'Master' hit the screens all over the world in 2021. The movie, which also features Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in a key role was met with mixed reactions at the box office.
Master is the story of an alcoholic professor JD (Vijay), who takes up a job in a juvenile home for three months. He then wins the students' love and fights against the atrocities of Bhavani (Vijay Sethupathi) against children. Actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, who played an important role in the film recently revealed that he regrets doing so.
Speaking about his role in Thalapathy Vijay's Master, Shanthanu said, "I was initially told that my role would appear on screen for about 40 minutes, which includes a fight scene. However, by the end of the final cut, I was only there for footage of about 12 minutes."
He regretted talking to the media about his role and its importance in the film. "With whatever I was told, I shared it with media, my friends, and family. They awaited my performance on the screen. Had I been informed of my scenes being chopped off for whatever reasons, I wouldn't have spoken about it on public platforms," added Shanthanu.
In Master, Shanthanu was seen in the role of a student named Bhargav. He was depicted as an angry man at first, especially as a rival to another student Savitha, who contests in the election. Later, he and Savitha become best friends.

Thalapathy Vijay played the role of John Durairaj aka JD. Vijay Sethupathi was seen as Bhavani, a gangster. In addition, the film stars Arjun Das, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri G Kishan, Nassar, Arun Alexander, Sai Dheena, Chetan, Ramesh Thilak, and Ramya Subramanian among others in crucial roles.
Master 2021 Movie's Crew
The story of Master was written by Lokesh Kanagaraj along with Pon Parthiban and Rathna Kumar. The movie's cinematography was rendered by Sathyan Sooryan, and Editing was taken care of by Philomin Raj. Anirudh Ravichander composed the foot-tapping music and compelling background score for Master. S Xavier Britto, SS Lalit Kumar, and Jagadish Palanisamy produced the movie under the Seven Screen Studio banner. The movie made about Rs 300 Crore against a budget of Rs 135 Crore, reportedly.
LEO 2023
Speaking about Master, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay have reunited again after Vikram and Varisu respectively, for their upcoming film LEO aka Thalapathy 67. Trisha is the film's leading lady, coming together with Vijay after more than a decade. The movie is shooting at a lightning speed in India and is aiming to hit the screens in the second half of 2023.
