Director Thiruselvam has said that the second part of his Kolangal serial will be released soon. Actress Devyani, who acted in the first part, has openly said that she is waiting to play the heroine again in this serial.

Thiruselvan is the most popular serial director. He initially worked in a dubbing theater and a cinematography studio where Ilayaraja composed music. Later, he worked as a sound engineer in more than a hundred films in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. After that, he started directing serials on the small screen. Thiruselvam made his debut as an assistant director in the serial Meti Oli, which was telecasted on Sun TV in 2002 and was a huge hit.

Thiruselvam is known not only as a director but also as an actor. He directed the serial Kolangal and made himself popular as a director and actor among the small screen fans. He played the character of Tolkappian in the serial Kolangal and has been called as Thols by his fans till now. Apart from that, after the serial Kolangal, he directed many super hit serials. Even now, he is directing the Ethirneechal serial which is being aired on Sun TV.

Recently, at the birthday celebration of actress Sathya Priya, who plays the character of mother in the serial, Thiruselvam has given many interesting information to the questions asked by his fans. Sathya Priya has already played the character of Karpagam in Kolangal serial as the heroine Devayani's mother. At this stage, she is now acting again in the Ethirneechal serial. Because of this, people asked her if he takes Kolangal 2 serial again, will you act? Sathyapriya and Devayani, who was near her, said together that this is what we are waiting for.

Director Thiruselvam said "All the work has been completed. I have prepared the story. When we get the right people for it, the shooting will start immediately. This time the Kolangal serial will be aired only on Sun TV. But the whole team will change. I'm already busy so I can't do it all at once."

Kolangal serial started in 2003 and ended in 2009. A total of 1533 episodes have been aired in this serial. Devayani played the heroine Abhi in the serial. But originally the late actress Soundarya was roped in to play the character of Abhi. Since she was too busy in films, she ouldn't do that. Apart from that, Vidya, who played Devyani's sister, is currently working as the story writer of Ethirneechal serial, but if she gets a chance to act in Kolangal season two, she has said that she will only act and not write the story.
