Vaathi Day 1 Box Office Collection: Dhanush's Bilingual Action Drama Helmed By Venky Atluri Opens Huge!

Dhanush's coming-of-age latest action drama Vaathi/Sir written and directed by Venky Atluri hit the screens all over the world on February 17. The movie, which stars Samyuktha as the female lead opposite Dhanush was met with a huge positive word-of-mouth and a hit talk by the fans and critics alike.

The movie showcases the life of Bala, a third-grade lecturer at a junior college in Tirupathi. He is a committed teacher and doesn't tolerate commercialization of education. He fights against the corrupt practices.

On its release day, Dhanush's film made a huge opening with Rs 4 Crore and more from the two Telugu speaking states alone. From the Tamil Nadu, another Rs 3 Crore added up to about Rs 7 Crore gross on the first day. The movie has more buzz in the Telugu states than in the Tamil Nadu region.

The film stars P Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadi, Sha Ra, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Ranjendran, Hareesh Peradi, Praveena, Ken Karunas, and Narra Srinivas in pivotal characters. Actor Akkineni Sumanth appeared in a cameo.

Vaathi also recorded a decent occupancy ratio of about 50 per cent for the morning shows and increased towards the end of the day.

Y Yuvaraj worked as the cinematographer of the movie. Naveen Nooli edited the film which has soulful songs and soundtrack composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Sai Soujanya and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments bankrolled the movie in association with Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios. The movie is made as a bilingual on a budget of Rs 30 Crore.
