Vadivukkarasi Recalls How Sivaji Ganesan Scolded Her, “Learn To Walk Like A Lady First”

Veteran actress Vadivukkarasi is one of the top stars in Tamil Nadu, and there is no role that she hasn't played in her more than four-decade long career. Starting from playing the leading lady to playing other character roles such as sister, mother, and so on, Vadivukkarasi is a truly versatile actress.

She has been opening up about herself and her personal life off late in interviews and in one such interview, she recalled her old memories with Sivaji Ganesan and Bharathiraja and narrated how Sivaji Ganesan scolded her during the shooting of a film.

She said, "He is a very sincere star. If the shooting starts at 5 pm, he will be on the sets at 4 pm. I wanted to be like him, so I went to the sets early whenever we did movies together. But on the first day on sets with him, I did not have much experience and I was very nervous also. Even after several takes, I could not perform my scene properly. Sivaji sir called me and said that I should first learn to walk like a lady, and then I can star learning to act."

She added that Sivaji even made her walk on a straight line with a heavy pot on her head to make her walk like a lady. About Bharathiraja, she said that she lost the opportunity to act in the successful movie, Alaigal Ooivadhillai because she was late to the sets for two days.

She said, "I was supposed to play the role of Radha's sister in Alaigal Ooivadhillai. But I did not go to the sets of the movie for the first two days. So, he replaced me with Silk Smitha. I should have played the role."

Recently, she also appeared in an interview and spoke about her personal life, saying that she should have never married and that was the biggest mistake of her life.
