Varalakshmi Sarathkumar Recalls When Was Gropped In Pub, “I Thrashed Him And Beat Him To Pulp”

Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, the talented daughter of renowned actor Sarathkumar, has established herself as a prominent actress in the Tamil film industry. With notable performances in films such as Poda Podi, Tharai Thapattai, Vikram Veda, Sarkar, and Sandakozhi Part 2, Varalakshmi has gained recognition for her versatility and bold acting choices.
Known for her candid and outspoken nature, Varalakshmi recently recalled in an interview how she was groped in a pub. She said, "I must have been around 19 or 20 years old when I visited a pub. Suddenly, someone groped my back. I don't know what he was thinking, but he touched me inappropriately."
She further described her reaction to the incident, saying, "I confronted him, threw him to the ground and made sure he never dared to touch another woman again. I won't disclose the exact actions I took, but they were significant enough to leave a lasting impact on him."
She also shared her thoughts on the topic of casting couch. "It has become far too easy to demand actresses for inappropriate activities. The main issue here is that these arrangements were agreed upon in the past, leading them to reject any changes in the present," she explained.
Calling for a reversal of this trend, Varalakshmi emphasized the importance of collective action. "We all need to start saying no to such demands. It won't change if only a few of us take a stand. While seeking opportunities, I don't use my father's name, and I don't want that also. I have my talents and that is enough to secure good roles in movies," she said.
Meanwhile, she recently made the headlines when she revealed that it cost her Rs. 50,000 to watch the final match of Indian Premiere League (IPL) which was between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
