Vijayakanth Death: Premalatha Breaks Into Tears Post DMDK Leader’s Demise; See Pics
In what came as a shocking news from the Tamil film industry, renowned actor and DMDK leader Vijayakanth breather his last today (December 28). According to media reports, Vijayakanth aka Captain Vijayakanth, who was hospitalised in a private hospital lately due to pneumonia, was on ventilator support after he tested positive for Coronavirus during the treatment. He later passed away this morning in the hospital.
As the news has left everyone shocked and sent a wave of grief across Tamil Nadu, Vijayakanth's wife Premalatha was seen crying inconsolably as she got the news of the senior actor's unfortunate demise. In several videos and pics going viral on social media, Premalatha was seen taking Vijayakanth's mortal remains back home for the last respects and she was seen breaking into tears after she saw Vijayakanth.
To note, the news of Vijayakanth's demise was confirmed by the hospital in a statement which read as, "Captain Vijaykanth was on ventilatory support following his admission for pneumonia. Despite the best efforts of medical staff he passed away in the morning on 28th December 2023".
Meanwhile, as the news of Vijayakanth's demise has spread like wildfire, the social media is abuzz with tweets condoling his unfortunate demise. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned his death and wrote, "Extremely saddened by the passing away of Thiru Vijayakanth Ji. A legend of the Tamil film world, his charismatic performances captured the hearts of millions. As a political leader, he was deeply committed to public service, leaving a lasting impact on Tamil Nadu's political landscape. His passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill. He was a close friend and I fondly recall my interactions with him over the years. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family, fans and numerous followers. Om Shanti."
