Why Suriya Couldn't Compete With Vijay and Ajith? Producer Dhananjayan has clearly explained in an interview about how Suriya missed to compete with Vijay and Ajith.

Dhananjayan, who has produced hit films including Mugamoodi, Anjaan, Irudhi Sutru, Dheiva Thirumagal, has won the National Award twice. He has produced many films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages.

In an interview given to a leading media portal by producer Dhananjayan, he explained about Suriya's miss in the competition between Vijay and Ajith. He said, "The competition between Vijay and Ajith has not started today. It was in the year 2002 that both of them became top actors by giving blockbuster hits like Ghilli, Thirumalai and Varalaaru.

During that time, Suriya did not get any big hits, Suriya starrer Kaakka Kaakka was a huge success. It was only after a gap of five years when his film Singam became a huge hit. In this gap of five years, both Vijay and Ajith have made it to the list of top actors

Singam Should Have Released Earlier

Perhaps if Suriya's Singam came out during the period when Vijay and Ajith gave blockbuster hits, he will be there in the top competition today. Due to this, only Suriya was able to take the third place and could not overtake them. Although he is in third place, the top two places are only being noticed by everyone.

Suriya's digital market is huge after Jai Bhim, but his film's theatrical release has been a bit of a letdown among fans. I am confident that the film Kanguva will definitely break this."

His market is not great recent years but still given two 100+cr movies in 2016 (24) & 2017 (Singam3). His graph went downhill from Kaapaan and NGK. He proved who he is with Soorarai Potru & Jai Bhim. He badly needs a theatrical blockbuster, hope Kanguva will deliver. If Kanguva blockbuster, then his graph will go up considering his upcoming lineups with Sudha, Vetrimaaran & Lokesh."
