In an unexpected piece of news, popular Tamil YouTuber Irfan is making the headlines as a car owned by him has had run over a 55-year-old woman. The tragic incident occurred on Thursday night when the woman named Padmavathi was fatally struck by a Benz car owned by Irfan as his family was returning to Chennai via Chengalpattu.

While some reports suggest that Irfan was present at the accident site, the police officers declined to make any comments regarding his presence. The victim, Padmavathi, hailing from a village near Potheri, worked as a security guard in a private college in the locality. On that fateful night, she had visited her daughter in Maraimalai Nagar and was on her way back home to Potheri when the tragic accident occurred. As Padmavathi was crossing the Trichy-Chennai National Highway near the Potheri municipality office, the speeding car, heading towards Chennai, collided with her, throwing her off the spot.

Tragically, Padmavathi's injuries proved fatal, and the ambulance crew pronounced her dead at the scene. Her body was subsequently taken to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem. The Guduvanchery traffic police registered a case under section IPC 304 A, which pertains to causing death due to negligence. It was revealed that Irfan's family was present in the car, with Mohammed Azaruddin, a distant relative from Sithalapakkam, behind the wheel.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Kannan from the Pallikaranai Traffic division addressed the issue, highlighting that the entire stretch of road lacked functional street lights, leading to several accidents. He further stated that despite repeatedly informing the municipality about the problem, they claimed a lack of resources to replace the light bulbs, exacerbating the safety concerns.

It was reported that Irfan personally offered Rs 10,000 to assist with the funeral arrangements, considering the financial struggles faced by Padmavathi's daughter.
