Captain Miller Box Office Collection Day 2: After entertaining fans with films like Sir and Vaathi last year, South superstar Dhanush has returned to the silver screen with its first release of 2024, Captain Miller. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the Tamil-language action-adventure movie was released on Friday (January 12) amid a huge buzz and expectations.

Starring Dhanush in the titular role, Captain Miller also features Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Aditi Balan, and John Kokken among others in pivotal roles. The film is set in India before Independence, under British rule, and revolves around a rebel leader who is forced to take a stand when situations turn unfavorable.

Captain Miller hit the theaters on January 12, on the occasion of Pongal, clashing with other big releases such as Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas, Teja Sajja's HanuMan, and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan. The movie is set for another clash with Venkatesh Daggubati's Saindhav starting, January 13.

As expected Captain Miller took a good opening by raking in Rs 8.65 crore (approx) in India. Made with a rumored budget of Rs 50 crore, the movie achieved an overall occupancy rate of 40.99% in Tamil, 6.92% in Hindi, and 7.94% in Kannada.

As Dhanush emerged victorious in the clash with Alayaan with a better opening, Captain Miller is expected to witness a huge jump on the second day of its release. On Saturday (January 13), the Tamil action drama is expected to cross the Rs 10 crore mark at the domestic box office. However, official numbers are still awaited.
