Captain Miller vs Ayalaan Box Office Day 4: Dhanush’s Film Crushes Sivakarthikeyan Film On 1st Monday

Captain Miller vs Ayalaan Box Office Collection Day 4

As the year 2024 began with a bang, the Tamil cinema witnessed one of the biggest clashes as Dhanush's Captain Miller and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan locked horns at the box office. To note, these have been among the most anticipated movies of the year and fans have been quite excited about both the films. And both the movies have hit the screens, there have been speculations about how they will fare at the box office as Ayalaan and Captain Miller have opened to decent reviews.

Interestingly, Captain Miller has managed to have an impressive start at the box office and give tough competition to Ayalaan. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Captain Miller made an opening day collection of Rs 8.0 crores (in Tamil) while Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan raked in Rs 3.2 crores. The gap was well maintained during the opening weekend wherein Captain Miller minted Rs 6.65 crores on day 2 and Rs 6.79 crores on day 3 in Tamil. The report suggested that the overall collection of Captain Miller turned out to be Rs 23.91 crores.

On the other hand, Ayalaan raked in Rs 4.35 crores on day 2 and Rs 5.59 crores on day 3 at the box office which took the overall collection to Rs 13.14 crores. And now as Ayalaan and Captain Miller are facing their first Monday at the box office, the movies are expected to stay steady amid the Pongal celebrations. While a slight dip is expected in Captain Miller collections, this Dhanush starrer has managed to crush Ayalaan at the box office.

Given the trend, Captain Miller is expected to earn Rs 5-7 crores today (day 4/first Saturday) while the numbers will be Rs 3-5 crores for Ayalaan. Interestingly, while Captain Miller has raked in Rs 1.41 crores from the morning shows, Ayalaan has raked in Rs 1.77 crores. The numbers are expected to increase during the day.

Meanwhile talking about Captain Miller's clash with R. Ravikumar's directorial Ayalaan, director Arun Matheswaran said, "I, Ravikumar and Sivakartikeyan are mutual friends and play cricket together. Moreover, I'm very happy for Ravikumar because when I started Rocky, he started the film Ayalaan. I don't know how but from then onwards till today he has held on to that film. This is what I love about Ravikumar is how he never disowned the movie even after getting delayed like this. I don't know who else has that kind of perseverance. It feels disheartening how a talented filmmaker like him had to wait for such a long time but also love how he is still standing by his film".
